I heard a little piece on these ladies on NPR last week. They were the first all female, integrated Big Band of their time. They were not held in high regard by critics because they were female, but when compared to other female bands from this period they really can WAIL! I am crazy with the heat today or at least the sunshine, which has made a one day appearance in the Butte after a few days away.
